From the entry '1964 European tour'.

Dear Paul Larson,

As a former member of the Obernkirchen Childrenschoir (Edith Möller), I founded the alumni association and also created the homepage http://www.obernkirchen48.de (.com). As I am not an Internet expert, I have only now discovered your guest post on our site - and was very pleased to receive another greeting from our friends.

The Purdue Varsity Glee Club is high up in our chorus memories, from time to time even former students contact me to visit their former host families. And for us children and teenagers, meeting you, the American students, was always a highlight - in Bückeburg and in Lavayette.

For some years now, I have set myself the task of compiling the history of the Schaumburger Märchensänger (Obernkirchen Children’s Choir).
In 2023 we had an exhibition in Bückeburg and next year we will repeat it in Obernkirchen.

I found your song list on your website https://pvgcdb.com/............. and especially the welcoming speech by Edith Möller. Unfortunately I can’t download this material - but I would very much like to. Would you provide me with the links to save them for the choir archive?
We have a big alumni reunion in a few weeks (every three years) and I think everyone would love to hear these songs. Thank you so much.

Also, the newspaper picture of you - Purdue Varsity Glee Club - from 1964 with your names underneath would be nice for the choir archives. Many of our alumni (especially the girls) remember “their Lavayetter” vividly and would love a picture like that.

Perhaps you could send me a larger version of this newspaper picture to show?

For the choir archive I am looking for all available documents (newspaper articles, photos, programs, videos, etc.) A huge task, but wonderful, with endless memories.

I would be very happy to hear from you.
All the best and best wishes from Bückeburg
Wolfgang Wicklein

Lieber Paul Larson,

Hey Bill… reading this letter and the tears are rolling down my face… just reading my dad’s name… I wonder if anyone ever found the tapes from the 1969 Christmas Show when I played Scrooge in STINGIEST MAN IN TOWN…  thanks for sharing this story…
