AVX60

Rick Hanna sent in this tape he received while in club in 1989. Absent any title, I used the tape’s branded label of ‘AVX60’ as my project name. Rick had also sent the Stockholm 1987 cassette.
It’s very likely this was a New Man’s recording rehearsal tape.
Or just a rad mix tape. The lack of a proper cassette title and the tubular decade of its birth gave me no choice but to make a bodacious title graphic.
I assume every track is from the Bill Allen era. The audio quality varies, but it’s very listenable. Standouts include “Indianapolis Indeed” by Chris Clarke, the infamous tongue-twister “Rhythm of Life”, “Love Walked In”, and “I Believe in Music” with Louis Voelker.
If this was indeed a New Man’s rehearsal tape, it’s seared into the memory of a generation of clubbers and is worth preserving, even with the imperfect audio.
Let me know if I’m missing any titles or soloists!
Party on!
Paul
