How to volunteer
There are a number of ways you can volunteer.
Categories of volunteer tasks:
- Splitting: The collection audio, imported from Scott Hines’ reel-to-reel work, needs to be split, titled, and categorized. Those experienced with Pro Tools, Garage Band, or similar software can follow the methods I’ve used, detailed in this video.
- Reviewing: Finished collections can simply be listened to. In particular, the director dialog is interesting and essential for identifying soloists, current events, song titles, etc. While reviewing the audio, please correct song titles, add interesting comments (e.g. “the innagural Grindstone award”), tag soloists, etc.
- Uploading: If you have PVGC recordings of any kind, please digitize them (whether the audio is split or not) and upload it. The volunteers can take it from there!
Commentary
I’m not seeing how we can access the collections to help with splitting or where we can upload. The upload links are taking me to the upload blog, not an uploading platform. I’d also be happy to help with splitting. I use Audacity.
